General Information

What is urgent care and how does it work?

Urgent care centers are designed to treat those who need attention quickly but don't require an emergency room visit. Urgent care centers do not require appointments and are generally open longer hours than a primary care physician's office. For instance, MyDoc Urgent Care is open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day (8:00 AM – 8:00 PM).

Who do we treat?

Anyone. Urgent care is a solution for individuals of all ages. From infants with a cough to teenagers needing sports physicals, and adults with minor injuries. Whether you've lived in the area for years or are just visiting, our full medical team provides high-quality, compassionate care for everyone.

How do I get started?

It's simple! You can just walk in to any of our locations—no appointment is necessary. If you have questions, you can also give us a call at (718) 401-1510.

Comparison & Costs

How does Urgent Care compare to the ER or a Primary Care Doctor?

The average wait time for a primary care appointment can be over 20 days. While the ER is an option, the average visit lasts over 3 hours (212 minutes). At MyDoc Urgent Care, the average visit lasts less than one hour, providing a faster and more cost-effective alternative for non-life-threatening medical issues.

How does Urgent Care compare with the ER on costs?

Urgent care is significantly more affordable than the Emergency Room. The average cost difference is approximately $373 per visit. Choosing urgent care for non-emergencies helps patients, insurers, and the healthcare system save billions of dollars annually.

Insurance & Billing

What about insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans for medical services. However, insurance is not required to receive care—we also offer affordable self-pay options for those without coverage.

What insurances do you accept?

We accept a wide range of insurance providers, including: NF, WC, Medicare, AARP, 1199, The Empire Plan, United Health Care, GHI/Emblem Health, Empire BC/BS, Magnacare, Cigna, Health First, Fidelis, Aetna, Wellcare, Metroplus, Humana, and Self-Pay.
